Here's an illustrated
Jataka Tale - A Monkey Story
This
illustrated Jataka is based on a collection of five hundred and fifty stories.
They are tales in which the life of the Bodhisattva (the Buddha-to-be)
in his previous births are narrated. The Bodhisattva is one, who by performing
virtuous, kind and intelligent acts, aspires to become a Buddha.
The
Jataka Tales are based on folklore, legend and ballads of ancient India.
They are very popular in the Buddhist world. These stories have been translated
almost in all the languages of the Buddhist countries such as Chinese,
Vietnamese, Tibetan, Singhalese, Thai, Burmese, Korean and Japanese.
