that are part of Abhijna. It refers to the power to manifest multiple forms
of oneself or to transform oneself into another shape, to become invisible,
to pass through valid things, to walk on water or fire, to touch the sun
and moon, and to scale the highest heaven. These abilities are by-products
of meditation, concentration and contemplation practices. However, exhibiting
or exploiting these powers is a violation of monastic discipline and pretending
to possess such powers is grounds for dismissal from the sangha.
